Red Hot Chilli Pepers Stadium Arcadium

One of my all-time favourite albums. It was recorded on analog tape, and mastered in analog. Unfortunately, the CD mastering is quite bad - dynamically compressed and clipped. However, the Steve Hoffman mastering on vinyl is exquisite.

The album was recorded in the haunted mansion owned by producer Rick Rubin, and the members of the Red Hot Chilli Pepers attribute "beings of a higher intelligence" controlling their playing!

Here's a great demo album that we have been using lately to show off the larger Genesis loudspeakers. Rock music has to be played at realistic levels - otherwise, it just sounds wrong. We are not talking about ear-bleeding levels of loudness. That hurts your ears and prolonged exposure reduces the sensitivity of your hearing.

The album was a 2007 GRAMMY WINNER for Best Rock Album, Best Rock Vocal Performance by a Duo or Group and Best Rock Song ("Dani California"). Both the music as well as the sound is wonderful - it was recorded on tape, mastered in analog, and the original lacquers cut by Acoustech for the vinyl release in 2006. It re-issued for Record Store Day 2010.
