Here comes an exotic high-end audio preamplifier that is both very different and intriguing. Fortevita AudioVisore preamplifier with the control of the Harmonic Spectrum without feedback and equalization. For the first insight I'm sharing the official white paper. I'll reveal more in the upcoming articles and review...
TIMBRE AND HARMONIC MODEL
Natural sounds sources produce complex waveforms made of thousands harmonics. The relationship between the fundamental and harmonics creates the timbre. The richness of a sound is produced by the complex combination of its harmonic content. In the Audio Reproduction the quality of total harmonic distorsion (THD) is much more important with respect to its quantity (Jean Hiraga). Infact, a device with lower THD could provide inferior listening results with respect to another with higher THD but with a different distortion distribution (John Curl). The optimum harmonic spectrum is characterized by a progressive decreasing harmonic distribution pattern (Jean Hiraga) with the absence of the unpleasant and dissonant higher order products - 5th, 7th and 9th (John Curl). Thus, different harmonic distortions models are strictly correlated to different subjective listening results.
RECORDINGS AND AUDIO SYSTEM TONAL UNBALANCE
On the other hand, not only Audio Systems but also Studio and Live Recordings may vary tremendously with respect to sonic quality (Mark Levinson). A recording optimized for one system may not sound “right” on another. Levinson suggested Equalization could be a useful tool to virtually resolve the most tonal unbalance. The Audio Palette was designed to improve the Musical Reproduction by the use of an ultra sophisticated parametric equalizer, which unfortunately affected the frequency response and thus the characteristics of the Audio Input Signal.
REVOLUTIONARY MC-SGS TECHNOLOGY
The AudioVisore represents the pragmatic solution to the tonal unbalance of most audio systems and musical material. This Line Amplifier operates on a “Harmonic Equalization”. The MC-SGSTM (Multiple Control - Single Gain Stage) allows to finely calibrate the proper “Working Point” of the Single Gain Stage adjusting the exact position of the Volume, the Gain and the OverDrive, without feedback and without affecting the frequency response. This process determines the natural amount of different odd and even harmonic components as demonstrated by exhaustive measurements with a FFT Spectrum Analyzer.
A Skilled User will easily find the “Right Harmonic Model” by an simple and accurate setting of the Volume, Gain and OverDrive Controls, without affecting the overall amount of the THD which has to be as low as possible as previously postulated (N.H. Crowhurst, “Basic Audio”, 1959). The result will produce outstanding improvements in terms of transient response, tonal balance, dynamic range, 4D and harmonic distortion. We developed this Line Preamplifier to be both accurate for the Sound Engineer and comfortable for the AudioPhile even after many hours of listening. Our goal was the ultimate achievement in the musical reproduction and not to profit in the marketplace. We are definitely aware that the Brand New Proprietary MC-SGSTM Technology has completely redefined the standards of the Line Preamplifiers that they will be extremely hard to be overcome even in the next twenty or thirty years to come.
AudioVisore “AUDIOGRAPH” and AudioVisore “CINEMASCOPE”
The AudioVisore “AudioGraph” and “Cinemascope operate with a level four Four MC-SGS Technology TM.
These limited edition program amplifiers employe in the Single Gain Stage (SGS) ultra rare high transconductance jFets made in Japan three decades ago. The output buffer is a current controlled jFet- Germanium Class A Power Stage. Extreme attention has also been devoted to the input stage, which has been dramatically improved to achieve the best coupling to the SGS in order to preserve the utmost quality of the audio signal.
THE AudioVisore AUDIOGRAPH LINE PREAMPLIFIER SHOWS THE AUDIO SIGNAL AS WELL AS A TEKTRONIX OSCILLOSCOPE PROJECTS AN ELECTRON BEAM ON ITS SCREEN.
THE AudioVisore CINEMASCOPE LINE PREAMPLIFIER TRANSLATES THE LIGHT AND MATERIA OF THE SOUND INTO AN ANAMORPHIC EXPERIENCE.
