Esther Yoo - Deutsche Grammophon

“This album is the culmination of years of dreaming, which started when I was a little girl only a few years into playing the violin but already enraptured by music.” Explore Esther Yoo - 에스더 유's marvellous debut album recorded with the Philharmonia Orchestra under the baton of Vladimir Ashkenazy:

The year 2015 marked the 150th anniversary of the births of both Jean Sibelius and Alexander Glazunov. The violinist, Esther Yoo, who just recently joined the Deutsche Grammophon family, has contributed to this celebration with her debut album presenting violin concertos by both composers.

The young violinist first came to international attention in 2010 when, aged 16, she became the youngest prize winner of the 10th International Sibelius Violin Competition. In 2012, the American-Korean violinist was also one of the youngest ever prize winners of the Queen Elisabeth Competition. She is currently a BBC New Generation Artist (14/15 and 15/16 seasons).
