A Fusion Of Passions For Film And Cello
Talented cellist Richard Harwood presents his new collection of concert works for solo cello comprising composers primarily known for their screen music scores.
'Composing Without The Picture' features works by John Williams, Ennio Morricone, Ernst Toch and Miklós Rózsa together with five world premiere recordings of works including Alex Heffes’ theme from ‘Touching The Void'.
‘...probably the greatest young 'cello talent since Jacqueline du Pré.' The Strad
‘...an articulate musician with zest, spontaneity, technical assurance and a lovely sense of line...a major talent.' BBC Music Magazine
Harwood has worked with most of the featured living composers on the album; his passion for their work and the medium for which they write is evident in his exemplary performances.
