Questyle Audio CAS192 Digital-to-Analog Converter


CAS192 is a fine Digital-Analogue converter. It adopts USB Asynchronous transmission 3X Clock structure design, different from the ordinary USB asynchronous technology which use PLL synthesized clock while causes obvious jitter problem, the 3X Clock structure ensures the DAC to obtain a first class sound performance. 3 correspondence level clocks are custom made from Japan, individually control multiple of 44.1KHz, multiple of 48KHz and USB signal transmission, dedicated for USB asynchronous transmission, and reduced Jitter to undetectable level. Besides, we developed specific drive program for CAS192 for double guarantee of its performance stable and compatible. Apart from USB input, CAS192 is also equipped with Coaxial and Optical inputs, all support 24bit/192KHz PCM transmission, great helpful for CD/DVD player to improve sound performance.

CAS192 adopts IIR (MP) digital filters, perfectly eliminate the Pre-Ring from signal pulse wave, ensures every signal you heard is from original sound. Not only limited on IIR, CAS192 provides with 5 different digital filter: IIR half-band, IIR Apodising, IIR Soft-knee, FIR Apodising, FIR half-band, free switchable through the DFR button in front panel. This is convenient for user to compare sound performance and select their favorite one.

The DAC chipset is Wolfson WM8741, but based on it Questyle made their innovative circuit which makes the sound better. Specific OPA627 plus BJT hybrid LPF output stage design, wonderfully avoid the TIMD (Transient Intermodulation Distortion) in fast speed working status. Analogue amplification section use JFET input, the transistor output stage works in Class A status, they together ensures the output sound with more natural, more approach to original.

The chassis is made of Aluminum under precise CNC machine, provides a great shield of RFI and EMI. The unique “bit” structure makes it extremely stable.

As JRiver’s sole firmware partner in China, we recommend you to use JRiver player in Windows application.

Digital-to-Analogue converting

▪ Wolfson flagship DAC chip WM8741,with which the innovative application circuit design is officially affirmed by Wolfson.
▪ DAC power supply utilizes 4 levels voltage-regulating.
▪ Specially designed OPA627+BJT hybrid LPF stage eliminates TIMD (Transient Intermodulation Distortion).
▪ WIMA FKP2 capacitors are used in LPF and buffer to ensures a clean sound .
▪ IIR (MP) Digital filter eliminates the pre-echo from pulse wave; it is switchable for 5 different kinds of filters and is convenient for users to compare different sound to find their favorite one.
▪ Dual Clock integral upsampling technology: two ultra-low phase noise clocks makes upsampling integrally; the upsampling is optional for start or shut.
▪ Specially designed toroidal transformer by Plitron has the separate digital and analog power supply.
▪ Schottky rectifier, 22 PCS of 2200uF Nichicon FG audio capacitances and 20 sets of separate regulators are utilized in the whole device.

Input and output section

▪ 3X clock structure for USB asynchronous transmission, which refers to3 independent ultra-low phase clocks respectively control USB data transmission, and data of integral multiples of 44.1KHz and 48KHz transmission, together with asynchronous technology, perfectly reduce Jitter.
▪ The dedicated USB driver guarantees the stability and compatibility of the whole system.
▪ XLR and RCA Output is optional.
▪ XLR output utilizes Neutrik connector.
