Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab heritage


It was thirty years ago today… Shawn R. Britton started working for Mobile Fidelity Sound Lab in Petaluma, California when they moved up to NorCal from Chatsworth near Los Angeles. Shown here in this polaroid (remember those?) is Mobile Fidelity real-time cassette duplication facility with Krieg Wunderlich in the foreground manning the 3/4" U-Matic machines, Shawn R. Britton adjusting the azimuth on a JVC KD-A77J cassette deck, and Tori Swenson on the Studer A80 "SuperMaster" transport. This was taken as a setup for a USA Today article circa 1988…
