Clones Audio workshop

As many of you asked me to write more about Clones Audio brand, here is a look into their operations. Funjoe opened up the doors to his working space and where all the Clones Audio magic is happening…

The white boxes on the shelf represents all stock of the parts for the Clones Audio chassis. Funjoe prefer not large stock for two reason. The place has its sizing limit and Funjoe is really love to build by order, making it sure he always implements the latest ideas and parts inside of the products going out.

STORAGE AND PACKING AREA

At the entry of my tiny workshop resides the storage and packing area. Inside the white boxes are the parts for the chassis of all Clones Audio products. Close by there is another dedicated  storage place for the packaging material, like carton boxes and bubble wraps. We have our own photo studio “white room” all the new product photo shooting is taking place.

LISTENING AREA

My listening areas is similar to the living room of the general living space in Hong Kong. The size is around 11.5 (W) X 12 (D) X 10 (H) feet. Room is acoustically treated with the acoustic panels and the “ROOM TUNE” at the ceiling and corner.

MAIN SYSTEM

ALL CLONES with no doubt! My reference system:

CAS - Mac Mini 2012 with CLONES POWER STATION
Software - Amarra and Jriver MC21
DAC - CLONES ASHER DAC (with the SG1 on top)
Preamp - CLONES AP2 (Cardas version)
Power - CLONES 55pm (Cardas + Namoo NS101 version)
Speaker - Volent VL2 (with Foundation Design II Stand)
Cables - Blackcat Redlevel series

WORK AREA

It might look simple, but this is epicenter of Funjoe workings. All soldering, building process is done on green area of the desk, close by is the dedicated rack for testing equipment and parts storage. Behind the desk sits a storage place for most of the electric parts of CLONES unit and the little 3D printer (Latest Toy) at the corner :).
