Joan Massià (1890–1969) was a catalan composer and virtuoso violinist trained in Brussels by Alfred Marchot (himself a pupil of the legendary Eugène Ysaÿe). His first wife was the French pianist and student of d'Indy, Blanche Selva, (1884-1942) who gave the première in Paris of Albéniz’s Iberia. Massià and Selva recorded in duo this César Franck Sonata, that was highly acclaimed at that time.
