Zero-offset full straight tonearm project


Our friend Dong-chan Son latest project. He has modified vintage Audio Craft AC-300mk2 tonearm and transform it with zero-offset full straight tonearm. You can also spot his Nasotec Swing Headshell, that has recently acquired a well deserved US Patent! As you can see in the gif video, the circular trajectory with under hang position shows only very small skating forces are generated at the both inner and outer groove. However, Nasotec Swing headshell additionally will almost completely compensate for this weakness. Also no need to consider side azimuth balancing factor. The tonearm in the photos is made by Mr. Naoki Yoshida by modifying Audio Craft AC-3000. 

The first step of the modification was the complete disassembly. The head of the tonearm is made of very soft metal and can cut off by knife. There two good things. The head is fixed with pressed connection to the bushing part of the arm tube and can be separated from the bushing. The diameter of the bushing is 8mm, that is also the standard size for Nasotec Swing Headshell... Photos below...
