SONUS FABER CONSTRAINED LAYER DAMPING


With the Sonus faber's constrained layer damping mode technique a second wooden panel, or a multilayer wood panel, is applied over the main cabinet structure, to add mass and rigidity. In addition, a layer of resilient materials is placed in between the main cabinet structure and the external panel to guarantee the ideal damping of any residual micro vibration. This structural solution is available on Reference line: it’s interesting to point out that this way - on Aida and on the Sonus faber - the overall thickness of each side reached 50 mm (2 inches).
