SONNET DIGITAL MORPHEUS & ARTONE STUDIOS

Interesting glimpses of the latest Sonnet Digital collaboration. Here are a few photos from the Cees Ruijtenberg's delivery and installation of the optimized Sonnet Digital Morpheus DACs to the record company, where they will be used in various mastering rooms. The first step was to calibrate the DAC with the Neumann Lathes VMS80 (lac) and VMS82 (DMM), for DMM cuts.

Cees Ruijtenberg writes: "It hardly needs to be said that in Haarlem, one of the cities in the Netherlands, we have one of the most amazing companies in the field of mastering and vinyl production. The "Artone Studios" is the place where music can be recorded with both digital and analog systems, and the "Record Industry" were cutting and mastering is realized before the production process with the most different systems.

Not only productions that are created in their recording studio, but also famous and demanding music labels bring their analog and digital masters to the "Record Industry" to have their production put on vinyl.

As far as analog equipment is concerned, both Artone and the Record Industry have a wide range of equipment with a very high reputation, so that the material offered keeps its analog character, just as the musicians and producers intended.

Nowadays, many digital masters are also supplied for conversion to vinyl. To make this conversion possible, while keeping the sound as close as possible to the original recording, a digital-to-analog converter is needed that will do its job without artifacts or degradation. Recently, an experiment was conducted using our modified Morpheus DAC as the source to deliver the converted signal to the Neumann Lathes VMS80 (lacquer) and VMS82 (DMM). for DMM cuts.

We are proud to say that the results have paid off, as evidenced by the fact that Sonnet Digital audio has been commissioned to supply three optimized Morpheus DACs for their mastering facility."

More on this when the special version of the Morpheus is delivered and installed.
