darTZeel & Stenheim - Is it Real Or Is It Recorded?

In a nice twist on the ‘real versus recorded’ theme, Swiss companies Stenheim and darTZeel have joined forces with VDM Sound Group (acoustic treatments from Italy) to present a series of ‘live’ events at the Munich Show. Saxophonist Jérôme Sabbagh will be playing tracks from his latest album No Filter – but his backing band will be present via a live recording made in New York and replayed on the darTZeel/Stenheim system in the room.

There’s a long history of ‘real versus recorded’ presentations and advertising in audio. Right back to His Master’s Voice, there have been companies claiming that their reproduced sound is indistinguishable from reality: who can forget that classic tag-line, Is it real or is it Memorex?
