Kavi Alexander writes: “Indian EMI made superb recordings of both Carnatic and Hindustani music, employing EMI made tube mixers, similar to the RADD types used at Abbey Road. Mics were of course German tube condensers and the recorders were EMI’s very own BTR decks. As for the monitor speakers, all I know is that EMI made an oval-shaped full-range driver that some swear is the Holy Grail! One can see oval-shaped drivers, through the grills of the monitors, in the other photo that I posted… Those of you who know more about the EMI made monitors, please do comment.
