Audio Research writes: “re we there yet? We envision a new product, supply performance parameters, consider its features, determine its size, provide preliminary specifications, and discuss the concept with engineering before the new circuit design is begun.

In this case it will be based on an existing design. So how long will this take? Since we’re not starting from scratch, it can’t take that long, can it? Why, yes it can. Chris is working on the latest prototype of the new Reference 320M mono amp, a product we have wanted and had in the works for a long time. The development time for a new product is usually 18-24 months, depending on how ambitious the product is and how much engineering time is available. Throw in parts delays and associated continuation engineering, and it can get drawn out.
Fortunately, it is looking good and we expect to enjoy the fruits of our labors before long. We can’t wait. Stay tuned!
