A new space dedicated to sonic research and contemporary listening culture has just opened in Rome: Nu/LL Studio, founded by composer Luca Longobardi. A place where high-fidelity meets the visual and performing arts, giving life to experiences that blend technical precision and emotional depth.
Within the studio, music is not just something to listen to — it’s something to inhabit: an ecosystem where acoustic instruments, hi-end systems, light, and material coexist, exploring the boundary between creation and reproduction, between art and technology.
From this vision arise the first two public formats: Diffuso, a “distributed” listening bar in collaboration with Bar Volo, and the House Concert Series, an intimate live performance project that allows audiences to experience compositions in the very place where they are born.

DIFFUSO — High Fidelity as a Performative Space
Nu/LL Studio and AudioLai inaugurate a new curatorial format dedicated to contemporary listening.
Born in Rome, Diffuso is a project conceived by Luca Longobardi in collaboration with AudioLai, bringing high-fidelity culture into a multisensory and collective dimension.
It aims to redefine the boundaries between listening and performance, technology and perception, intimacy and shared space.
Developed through a series of curated sessions, Diffuso takes shape as a distributed listening bar: the signature mixology of Bar Volo, a new creative venue in Torpignattara, merges within the spaces of Nu/LL Studio in a unique dramaturgy where sound becomes a material to inhabit and share.

At the heart of the project are the AudioLai Duetto Active — handcrafted open-baffle active stereo loudspeakers made in Italy, combining craftsmanship, design, and digital engineering in rare balance.
Thanks to their dipole architecture and integrated DSP control, the Duetto deliver an expansive, natural, and three-dimensional soundstage.
Inside Nu/LL Studio, conceived as a hub for sonic and interdisciplinary research, the AudioLai system is not merely a sound source but an active element of performance, interacting in real time with acoustic instruments and analog sources.
Through an analog reel-to-reel setup, a unique live mixtape takes shape — one that restores to sound its physical grain and magnetic depth.
The event is accompanied by light design by Mandalaki Studio: the Landscape collection, with its chromatic uniqueness and interplay of light and shadow, constantly dialogues with the sound, creating an evolving perceptual landscape.
Diffuso is neither a concert nor a DJ set, but rather an experiment in collective listening, where hi-end reproduction enters the realm of live performative mixing, transforming the studio into a space of sensory relation.

HOUSE CONCERT SERIES — The Intimacy of Live Listening in High Fidelity
Alongside Diffuso, the new home of Nu/LL Studio also hosts the House Concert Series, a collection of intimate concerts for a small, curated audience.
This series is designed to present Luca Longobardi’s music within the same spaces where it takes shape.
Here, hi-end technology meets the acoustic dimension of live performance: upright piano, grand piano, and the AudioLai Duetto Active system coexist in the same environment, creating a soundstage where reproduction and performance merge into a continuous perceptual flow.
The acoustically optimized room is designed to allow music to be experienced live or reproduced — and vice versa — seamlessly.
The Duetto Active system reproduces every dynamic variation with precision and transparency, highlighting the material texture and physical presence of sound with astonishing realism.
The result is a hybrid and innovative experience, where high-end technology does not imitate the acoustic event but accompanies, amplifies, and translates it into a new form of shared listening.
Each House Concert also includes visual and performative elements that enhance perception, making every encounter a unique and unrepeatable event.

Both dimensions — the hybrid and collective one of Diffuso and the intimate one of the House Concerts — share the same vision: to unite the excellence of high-fidelity reproduction with the vitality of live sound, restoring to listening its most authentic and physical power.
