TechDAS Air-Force 20 turntable — how it works, in four ideas…
Air Float & vacuum hold-down
The heavyweight platter rotates while levitating on a ten-micron cushion of air. Vacuum suction draws each record flat against it, integrating disc and platter into one mass.
Flywheel air-bearing drive motor
Inherited from the Air Force Zero. A flywheel floating on air multiplies the system’s total moment of inertia fivefold and couples to the motor without contact minimising friction, eliminating cogging.
Dual-structure platter
A non-magnetic SUS316L main platter with a selectable upper layer – A7075 Extra Super Duralumin or TP340 pure titanium – vacuum-bonded into one ultra-rigid mass.
Monotube Oil-Damped Spring Suspension
The hybrid spring-and-oil suspension of the Air Force Two, re-engineered: an isolation spring sealed in damping fluid, working against a free-piston oil chamber to settle the platter in silence.
