When the Raidho X2T was introduced, it immediately caught my attention with its distinctive, stylish appearance and significantly upgraded components and materials.
Marking the brand’s 25th anniversary, the X2T Anniversary Edition offers something special: a collectible speaker that delivers distinctly refined sound and a modern, upscale aesthetic for demanding music lovers, audio aficionados, and connoisseurs.
X2T – 25TH ANNIVERSARY EDITION
The Raidho X2t – 25th Anniversary Edition is based on the X2 platform, one of Raidho’s most successful models to date, with only 100 pairs produced worldwide, each uniquely numbered and certified.
The X2t is a 2.5-way design featuring dual 5.25″ bass driver units that now use a tantalum cone coating, a refractory metal known for its strong, hard, and stiff characteristics, making it ideally suited to this application.
The crossover has been upgraded and refined to deliver greater musicality and accuracy, and premium Furutech binding posts have been chosen for enhanced signal transfer.
For this limited edition, Raidho is offering three special high-gloss finishes: Walnut Burl, Emerald Green, and Midnight Blue.
DRIVERS
The cutting-edge, bespoke, in-house-designed and manufactured X2t driver is proudly made in Denmark and represents a significant achievement on many fronts.
Most importantly, it is a music-first product, designed from the ground up to work in harmony with and support the speakers as a cohesive whole.
This midrange-bass unit allows the X2t – 25th Anniversary Edition loudspeakers to disappear physically in the room, leaving the music to float and form freely, even in my 50 m² space, with laser-sharp focus on tempo and on the rendering of instruments and performers in the sonic sphere.
RAIDHO RIBBON TWEETER
The proprietary, trademarked, and renowned ribbon tweeter is another truly unique element of the X2t – 25th Anniversary. Handmade at Raidho’s facility in Denmark, this planar magnetic tweeter uses 11-micron-thick foil in its tracks, resulting in 50 times less mass than a conventional dome tweeter, made possible by the absence of a voice coil and the extremely low weight of the foil (20 milligrams).
The resulting sonic output is free of resonances, distortion, and mechanical hysteresis, and it exhibits a remarkable breakup point at 82 kHz. This allows the X2t speakers to deliver a crisp, extremely fast response and a zen-like equilibrium in the higher spectrum, without any trace of brittleness, edginess, or metallic imprint.
THE MUSIC
Across a wide range of musical material, the translucent yet chameleon-like, characterless nature of the Raidho X2t – 25th stood out, allowing every genre of music to bloom.

BECK – SEA CHANGE
Beck’s Sea Change is an emotionally charged and sonically revealing recording, with splendid production and mastering that fittingly accompany one of the most memorable albums of 2002.
Intimate vocals, acoustic instruments, and carefully layered studio production quickly reveal how well a loudspeaker is voiced and tuned, and with the X2ts, Beck’s voice has more than enough presence and intimacy. The Danish floorstanders render physical size and objective weight surprisingly well, without exaggeration.
Acoustic guitars, a major part of the album’s magic, are presented with the same sense of factuality and objectivity, maintaining a radiant, vibrant string texture and resonance, while leaving the necessary space for the surrounding production elements.
The Raidho X2t does not emphasize small details. Reverberation, ambience, and decay stay within the context of the recording, which is especially evident and effective in quiet passages.
The emotional crux of Sea Change, intimately tied to heartbreak and desolation, is centered on the song’s narrative and the effective magnetism of the vocals and instruments.
Along with energetic charge, the proper weight must be applied to evoke an emotional outpouring, which is essential when the narrative becomes dense, and X2t speakers retain a strong sense of higher sonic order, with individual elements remaining recognizable without undermining the complex yet unifying narrative.
With the Raidho 25th Anniversary Edition properly set up and driven, they truly shimmer. I found myself listening to the album as a whole rather than jumping from track to track in search of particular recording traits – of which there are many to assess the sound.
A pair of X2t loudspeakers easily delivers an involving presentation that encourages continuous listening with a clear message: MUSIC FIRST!
HUDSON
The opening track on Hudson, featuring a standout ensemble of musicians based in the Hudson Valley, further reinforces that the X2t loudspeakers are neither voiced nor designed for any particular musical genre. They adapt accordingly.
With the Hudson X2ts, instrumental interaction and rhythmic complexity are preserved, making it easy to nail the demanding syncopation, timing, and attack.
The 25th Anniversary Edition demonstrates a remarkable ability to preserve space and subtlety even when Medeski, Scofield, and DeJohnette engage with dense, complex playing, maintaining the pace and the same fundamental mojo throughout the track.
A great speaker should not require a specific type of music to sound convincing, but with the Hudson it especially needs to sparkle with an electric, eclectic, consistently charged energy.
Such unaltered momentum and precise harmonic orderliness are among the qualities I value most in a loudspeaker, regardless of price, and I was deeply impressed by the Raidho X2t’s dynamism and balanced rhythmic grip.
NICOLETTE — “I WOKE UP”
The highly challenging low bass, Nicolette’s vocal presence, and the minimalistic, slowly pulsating underlying rhythm of “I Woke Up” demand subtle yet powerful movement of air, in perfect sync from the source to the transducers, representing quite a challenge even for much larger and far pricier speakers, where many fail to render this with the crucial essence.
Of course, Raidho X2t speakers cannot act as two-meter towers. What they can do, when needed and with spades, is deliver an in-your-face punch, far mightier than even I expected.
“I Woke Up” demands a constant push-pull magnetism, as the rhythm not only underpins the song but overwhelmingly dominates its spirit. The X2t floorstanders’ rendition, and their sheer ability to glue everything together – especially the powerful movement that makes the track pop in the sonic sphere – is proof of concept for engineering done right.
Along with its uncompromising clarity, Raidhos resonated easily with the track’s evocativeness, rich vibrancy, and decidedly dark mood and texture.
It’s never easy for relatively compact speakers like the X2t – 25th Anniversary Edition to project the immense scale of “I Woke Up” without getting in the way or diminishing the song’s energetic impact, or Nicolette’s melancholic, laconically alluring vocals.
The Raidho two-and-a-half-way floorstanders delivered a surprisingly powerful grip with substantial energy, emotional impact, and an inspiring level of sonic quality, all the more remarkable for speakers of this size.
CONCLUSION
The residual impression of the reviewed Raidho X2t in a splendid Midnight Blue Burl finish is both aesthetic and aural, but even more importantly, these special edition speakers nurture a deep listening experience with surprisingly potent dynamic impact, sonic pressure, above-class spatiality, and unique plasticity.
The X2t is unmistakably Danish in every respect, embodying deliberate design restraint with finely crafted details that unify the design vision while leaving enough freedom to avoid pretense.
The instantly recognizable Raidho enclosure shape, which fuses wood and aluminum with carefully selected and matched core components (drivers and crossover), reflects a shared commitment to uncompromising sound.
Despite its compact size, the X2t does not flinch under the colossal pressure of full-orchestra dynamic passages, nor does it fracture its depiction of horizontal and vertical sonic-sphere geometry.
Under the guidance of CEO Morten Kim Nielsen, Raidho has made – and continues to make – several unexpectedly positive moves.
By responding to market demand, the new products from this iconic and renowned Danish speaker manufacturer represent a fresh infusion of ideas and upgrades across the complete loudspeaker portfolio.
The Raidho X2t speakers occupy an interesting niche as a limited-edition release, offering a substantial sense of luxury in a compact yet fully featured floorstanding design.
Where the X2t differs, and truly surprises, is in its ability to deliver sound on a scale far beyond its physical size. My 50 m² listening room is not exactly easy to fill, but the way the X2t 25th Anniversary keeps its mojo and projects both horizontal and vertical expansiveness, with a highly distinctive – and, dare I say, newly discovered – transparency, speed, and depth, makes this two-and-a-half-way speaker astonishingly responsive to sheer musical energy.
In an era when luxury has a distinctive meaning in the high-end audio industry, the X2t speakers strike at the aesthetic core with contemporary, stylish design cues that embrace simplicity, expressed through the instantly recognizable shape of these iconic Danish loudspeakers.
The Raidho 25th Anniversary Edition belongs to that rare breed of loudspeakers capable of an astonishing disappearing act. While other speakers may share this ability to varying degrees, they more often than not fundamentally change the physicality of the sound, reshaping the weight of instruments and altering speed, leading edges of notes, and percussive attacks.
Raidho X2t – 25th Anniversary Edition is the antidote to these negative attributes, allowing instruments and performers to retain their physical objectivity and remain within the golden triangle of timbre, tone, and color.
The proprietary ribbon tweeter elevates the higher spectrum into a class of its own, without metallic harshness or any trace of congestion, issues that are instantly noticeable with metallic percussive instruments.
The lower register is sympathetically and harmoniously tuned and voiced. The music finds its natural pace as it emerges from a Vantablack background – undistorted, unaltered, and faithful to the source – where musicality is not an add-on extra, but an integral part of a well-considered and balanced output.
Too often we hear such claims, but very few speakers can actually deliver true musical momentum.

This is where the magic of the disappearing act happens, with the amps gripping the speakers’ guts with complete control. But the speaker design must allow this, and the Raidho Anniversary Edition is fully ready.
This feature alone elevates the X2t to a uniquely capable level of dynamic performance that arrives as an extra and, for many, an unexpected benefit.
