The Acuhorn LUSSO DSD differential discrete DAC features an analog filter with high-quality 0.1% thin-film Nichrome chip resistors. A Lundahl LL1521 high-impedance line-input transformer handles differential-to-single-ended signal conversion. The unit includes the AK4137 Asahi Kasei premium 32-bit digital sample-rate converter (SRC).

There are two ways to use PCM-to-DSD conversion. All digital audio formats can be converted either by computer software or by the onboard hardware processor. HQPlayer, Foobar2000, and other high-resolution audio players are supported for DSD playback. The DAC is compatible with all major music formats, including WAV, FLAC, ALAC, DSF, and with lossless audio-streaming platforms such as Amazon, Apple Music, Deezer, Qobuz, Spotify, TIDAL, and others.
Manual controls allow switching between the USB audio device and S/PDIF inputs.
The USB Type-B digital input uses the Amanero Combo384 audio adapter, compatible with Android, macOS, Linux, and Windows.
The S/PDIF coaxial input uses the WM8804 digital interface transceiver.
Supported output formats (32-bit): PCM up to 384 kHz (USB) and 192 kHz (S/PDIF).
SRC bypass mode supports DSD64, DSD128, and DSD256.
The pure Class-A single-ended tube stage supports 300B, PX25, PX4, 45, and 2A3 directly heated power triodes. Matched NOS tubes for the UX4 (U4A) socket are available. European tubes with a 4-pin B4 (A4A) base can be used with an adapter. The analog stage is built using Caddock high-performance film resistors.
