The main goal when creating the Audio Engineers Lightspeed series was to create the best and clearest sound quality available, at an affordable price.
The Lightspeed series power cables were the first special products in the Audio Engineers range. The light rings of the Lightspeed power cables have become iconic in recent years, almost becoming one with the Audio Engineers image.

The second generation of the Lightspeed power cables .v2 retains the previous, iconic lighting ring appearance, but the new series has evolved further and improved better quality thanks to the newly developed DC filter.
Lightspeed Pure Energy technology .v2
The new Lightspeed Source and Performance power cords have been equipped with the newly developed special Pure Energy .v2 electronics, which filter out the DC components that pollute the AC power more effectively than the previous solution.

This provides an even cleaner sinusoidal AC power, which results in more efficient operation. The special feature of the Lightspeed Pure Energy .v2 electronics is the lighting rings on the connectors, which give the Lightspeed Source and Performance power cords a unique look.
Structure
The new Lightspeed Source and Performance power cords have full separate symmetrical tri dual-core and quad tri-core helix structure conductors, 14 AWG and 8 AWG total conductive cross-section, separated multi-purpose shielding, and reduced resistance. The Lightspeed Source features the latest, fully symmetrical 3D Vortex, while the Performance model features a 4D Vortex structure, which structural designs provide symmetrical transverse placement, thereby minimizing the inductive and capacitive effects of the parallel construction of the conductors, which negatively affects the alternating current phase accuracy.
The dual Nano Black Helix outer layer not only provides a special and unique appearance to the Lightspeed Performance power cords, but the special metallised polymer film with a coating of 500 nanometers thick metal prevents radio frequencies and electromagnetic interference from entering the cable’s inner structure. Similar metallised polymer films are used in NASA spacesuits to reflect radiation and it has been applied as an antistatic layer for insulating materials in aircraft. The fields generated by the current in the pure copper conductors are effectively attenuated by the internal shielding, while the new improved nano Black Helix layer is responsible for external electromagnetic and radiofrequency noise protection, which together reduces the negative interaction between the current flowing in the conductor and the insulation.
Connectors
The Lightspeed Source and Performance power cords received high-quality, hand-selected polymer-composite connectors with pure copper contacts inside.
The rhodium-silver coating on the outside of the contacts provides the right connection, which has measurably better electrical parameters than, for example gold coating and is more resistant to environmental impacts.
In addition to the high quality of the connectors, the special look is also emphasized by the built-in lighting. The lighting rings of the connectors give the Lightspeed Source and Performance power cords a unique look.
Made by hand
Each Lightspeed Source and Performance power cord is assembled entirely by hand, from the design of the vortex structure to the solder-free installation of the plugs. Each Lightspeed Source and Performance power cord is made with high precision and attention to detail.
The new Lightspeed series power cords are available from Audio Engineers distributors this November.
