Triple rolling-crystal ball pendulum technology

The Zen Disc Ultra uses specially designed, separate, and individually isolated three-ball cups. The individual cups have special gel support, so they can dampen resonances of different directions and intensities as individual units. The design of the cups has a variable curve, so the Zen Disc Ultra units easily respond to low-intensity vibrations and can exert a greater counter-effect to higher-energy vibrations. The triple rolling-ball design is always balanced, so it does not “wobble”, so it can be easily installed under spiky feet or factory device feet without additional fixing. The triple rolling-ball design made it possible to use smaller balls, which lower weight provide a faster reaction time to compensate for vibration. The design of the ball cup was also tuned to the materials used, so Zen Disc Ultra differs from other Zen Disc models not only in material quality and load capacity but also in efficiency and sensitivity.

State-of-the-art materials and technologies

Zen Disc Ultra anti-vibration isolation devices are made from a highly effective combination of materials and technologies used in aerospace technology, advanced aerospace and automotive manufacturing, and motorsport. The outer housing of the Zen Disc Ultra units is made of non-magnetic, high-quality aluminum-silicon-magnesium alloy with ultra-high precision CNC machining. The aluminum-silicon-magnesium alloy itself has excellent anti-vibration properties and effectively eliminates unwanted electronic interactions with sensitive audio device components caused by commonly used magnetizable steels.

In the aluminum-silicon alloy housing, there are ball cups made of high-strength steel, which have received a special ceramic coating at high temperatures. The surface ceramic coating provides extremely high wear resistance and extremely low surface friction.

The Zen Disc Ultra units feature special quartz crystal balls that are made in a laboratory with precision machining, so they are extremely close to the perfect spherical shape. The high hardness, low weight and special material structure of the quartz crystal balls ensure extremely effective vibration damping properties.

The vibration damping efficiency is further increased by the carbon fiber damping unit located under the upper disc, the efficiency of which is further improved by the damping gel applied between the carbon fiber layers. In the lower part of the Zen Disc Ultra units, an additional layer made of carbon-polymer fiber material ensures damping and proper adhesion.

The unique shape of the Zen Disc Ultra also helps to reduce the size, which provides a special appearance without reducing efficiency.
