Thanks to the meteoric success of our debut LP, whose entire pressing sold out prior to release, Brinkmann proudly announces an encore… Destined to delight music aficionados and audiophiles alike, Brinkmann’s second release, “Get That Motor Runnin’” reunites Blicher Hemmer Gadd, the acclaimed Jazz Trio featured on our first LP. The new album includes six songs: three studio recordings and three live recordings.
Award winning saxophonist Michael Blicher, Hammond wizard Dan Hemmer and legendary drummer Steve Gadd first collaborated in 2014 to celebrate their shared love for Soul, Jazz and the Hammond organ. The trio has now played more than 50 shows around the world and released two albums in addition to “Special 33,” Brinkmann’s debut LP. “Get That Motor Runnin’” will be released 1 November 2019. The new album features UK vocalist Paul Carrack (Eric Clapton, Mike & the Mechanics) performing the soulful ballad “The First One to Know“
Brinkmann’s obsession with producing recordings that are both musically compelling and sonically spectacular led us to master “Get That Motor Runnin’” using MQA (Master Quality Authenticated) technology for use across all musical formats. Digital-to-Analog conversion is accomplished with Brinkmann’s Nyquist Mk II Streaming DAC. The MQA master file has been used to stream on TIDAL Masters; in the production of the MQA-CD which plays back on any CD player; and was directly fed through the Nyquist Mk II Streaming DAC into the cutting machine to produce the vinyl version.
In producing “Get That Motor Runnin’” Brinkmann implemented the same perfectionist approach that made “Special 33” so remarkable; however, our previous experience enabled us to improve many details (cabling, resonance control, etc.), resulting in an even greater sonic achievement. Dr. Matthias Lück, Partner, Brinkmann Audio GmbH, mastered the album in concert with mastering engineer Thomas Oelscher at Railroad Tracks Studios.
Cut using DMM (Direct Metal Mastering) with ORIGINAL Neumann VMS 82 Cutting Lathe and SX 84 recorders, “Get That Motor Runnin’” was pressed at Vinyl Plant (www.vinylplant.ee), an Estonian boutique pressing plant. Excellence of the test pressing has been verified on a Balance turntable driving a full Brinkmann System, with a Bardo/10.0 used for quality control.
Due to extreme demand for our previous, limited-edition release, we are authorizing a larger production run, thereby enabling all Brinkmann devotees to own a copy.
“Get That Motor Runnin’” will be available on CD (MQA-CD) and Streaming Services (Tidal, Spotify, Qobuz etc.), as well as a vinyl LP of unsurpassed quality.
On 11 October, the Album’s Title Song has been pre-released on Streaming Services.
On 25 October, the Ballad “The First One to Know” with Paul Carrack has been pre-released on Streaming Services.
On 1 November, the Album (LP and CD) will be released.
