And before the torrents of emails are pointed towards me regarding DAT to high res PCM/DSD transfer, here is official explanation why they did it:
“The reason we offer the hi-res formats, particularly for a release like this that was originally recorded on 16 bit stereo DAT, is because the good folks at Gateway Mastering do their best to clean up the original recording and make it ready for prime time. The mastering is done at a higher resolution and ouput to DSD and the 24 bit HD formats.
