A 6th batch of celebrated Deutsche Grammophon albums reissued on vinyl with the highest possible audio quality is now released as part of our Original Source Series. This time the cutting-edge, pure analogue technique of the Emil Berliner Studios was used to remaster albums by Maurizio Pollini, Herbert von Karajan with the Berliner Philharmoniker, Claudio Abbado and Friedrich Gulda with the Wiener Philharmoniker as well as Rafael Kubelík, also with the Berliner Philharmoniker.

Pollini / Chopin: Preludes
The late pianist legend Maurizio Pollini’s interpretation of Chopin’s 24 Préludes has been a cult favorite since its release in 1975. It is released now with a side split different to the original release, to offer higher audio quality.

Karajan, BP / Grieg: Peer Gynt & Sigurd Jorsalfar
Herbert von Karajan’s highly acclaimed recording of Grieg’s two Peer Gynt Suites with the Berliner Philharmoniker is combined with orchestral pieces from Grieg’s Sigurd Jorsalfar. With their brilliant and expressive interpretation, the musicians demonstrate an enormous sensitivity for the Norwegian composer’s unique atmospheric tonal language.
Kubelík, BP / Dvořák: Symphony No. 9 “From the New World”
The great Czech composers occupied an important place in the varied repertoire of star conductor Rafael Kubelík. Many of his interpretations became cult, including this recording of Dvořák’s 9th Symphony “From the New World” with the Berliner Philharmoniker in 1972. In it, the maestro “captured the enthusiasm of his players, creating feelings of both tension and poetry”. (Gramophone)
Gulda, Abbado, WP / Mozart: Piano Concertos Nos. 20 & 21
Lastly, following the overwhelming success of Friedrich Gulda, Claudio Abbado and the Wiener Philharmoniker’s recording of Mozart’s Piano Concertos Nos. 25 and 27, which was released as part of the Original Source Series in 2023, the Piano Concertos Nos. 20 and 21 are now also being reissued. The works are presented across 2 LP’s for higher audio quality.
