Diapason woodwork factory visit

This is the third installment of my visit to Diapason in Italy. I’ve had pleasure to see the wood works shop in legendary Vicenza where all the Diapason wood “carving” is happening. Some of the Diapason models’s solid wood complex chassis cannot be simply CNC treated and this leaves a lot of the real handwork to be done. Alessandro introduced me to the all three members of the small family business. Their collaboration goes on for more then 30 years.  There is only special selection of walnut used for the production of the speakers. Each phase of glueing takes a whooping one month before moving on to the next step. Does this ring a bell!!!

Interestingly, this is the exact woodwork shop where the first small Sonus faber speakers were made. More coming. 30+ photoset…
