The Mosaic T multibit DAC contains our new discrete digital to analogue converter. Our digital to analogue conversion uses i2s decoding and a balanced passive resistor matrix to produce the analogue output signal. After the conversion there are no active components and the DAC has a DC coupled output.
By using Toslink as digital input, ground loops are avoided. Our DAC and passive clock design reduces noise and jitter to extreme low levels.

Discrete multibit DAC with Toslink input
The heart of the Mosaic T is our new discrete multibit DAC that was developed in-house from scratch. This design uses some unconventional logic designs to correct flaws that exist in all existing DAC chips and derived discrete DAC designs. By using Toslink as digital input, ground loops are avoided. Our DAC and passive clock design reduces noise and jitter to extreme low levels.
The Mosaic T converts a digital sample into an analog voltage using resistors only. No active components are used after the conversion. The DAC is DC coupled, so there are no capacitors in the signal path.
