ECM-collector.com

This email just came in from Manuel and Ron. Great news for all ECM fans and collectors:
“We are Manuel Schulz from Switzerland and Ron Ploeger from the Netherlands, both avid ECM vinyl collectors and ECM music lovers to boot. The idea and inspiration about creating ECM-collector.com was to provide an online platform for sharing information about ECM music, the record titles, and obscurities with other collectors.”
ECM-collector.com has a main database in which all titles ever produced can be found, browsed and checked, and which will be updated with the very latest information. But the most inspiring part is that all knowledge and information can SHARED by any ECM collector with any other ECM collector.
At the beginning of March 2013 we were very excited about the very idea of this dynamic and lively database in which theoretically thousands of ECM collectors could easily mobilise their own collection along with the possibility to share it with other members. Most ECM collectors will be familiar with certain trusted webpages, but many of these stopped being updated or much of the information is obsolete or simply wrong.
ECM-collector.com has many advantages over such sites – not least its main database which will be updated as soon as information validated. Such information may come from any ECM collector around the globe. This is a dynamic process that will ultimately create an accurate database. Although ECM-collector.com looks fairly basic (this was our intention), we assure you there is some very clever programming behind all this, and it took months of labour to create.
ECM-collector.com has many great features which we invite you to explore. But there is one feature which is simply amazing: you can go into any second-hand record store, go through all vinyls and just check your smartphone for any titles missing! For the “titles missing” option you just click the tickbox “Wanted” in the “Generate Lists” section. Here you can also tickbox any wanted JAPO, WATT, XtraWATT titles to see if you actually “Have” or “Want”.
We could go on and on about all the features on offer, but there is only one real way for you to find out: apply for your membership and come on board. There is no fee, no obligations, other than having a positive attitude and wanting to share your ECM music passion with others – it’s up to you how actively or passively you do so.
We look forward to welcoming you at www.ecm-collector.com
