The 7N-PC55ES LTD is the second model in the Esoteric Mastering Edition cable series. Based on the acclaimed 7N-PC5500SE, this limited edition of just 50 individually produced cables features exclusive sound tuning supervised by Chief Mastering Engineer Masaya Tono. Drawing upon the combined expertise of the Esoteric Mastering Center in both high-resolution music production and hardware development, it embodies the passion and uncompromising standards of the mastering engineers, delivering greater realism, deeper musical engagement, and a more intimate connection between performer and listener.

99.99999% Purity, Stress-Free Copper Conductors
The 7N-PC55ES LTD features D.U.C.C.™ 7N Cu as the main conductor. This material was developed by Mitsubishi Cable Industries, Ltd. 7N Cu boasts a purity level of 99.99999%, which is achieved through a base material production process that is equivalent to the one used for semiconductor applications. Such applications require stringent quality assurance, with a total metallic impurity content of 0.1 ppm or less. While the purity analysis process requires meticulous expertise, high-precision analytical techniques ensure this level of purity. Furthermore, thanks to Acrolink’s “stress-free processing,” the cable maintains excellent transmission characteristics even against degradation of the crystal structure caused by bending during use. This process self-anneals at room temperature to ensure the material remains in sound condition.
D.U.C.C. (Dia Ultra Crystallized Copper) is a high-purity copper conductor for audio cables developed by Mitsubishi Cable Industries, Ltd. The crystal grains in D.U.C.C. are dozens of times larger than those in standard pure copper, and the crystal lattice orientation has been aligned. Larger crystal grains result in fewer grain boundaries, which significantly improves sound quality. However, since metal crystals have a specific orientation, aligning this orientation was also necessary. This orientation can be observed through X-ray analysis. By optimizing manufacturing processes such as drawing, stranding, and annealing, however, we were able to produce an exceptionally high-quality wire with the optimal orientation for audio signal transmission.
Internal Conductor Structure
The 7N-PC55ES LTD is a proven triple-conductor cable consisting of hot, cold, and ground conductors. The hot and cold conductors are made up of 100 stress-free strands of 7N copper, each with a diameter of 0.26 millimeters, twisted together. The ground conductor is made of super-annealed 4.5N copper strands. The hot conductor is right-twisted and the cold conductor is left-twisted. Reversing the twist direction of the strands reduces inter-wire noise. The conductors are insulated with high-grade polyolefin resin, a material with a dielectric constant one-fourth that of standard PVC, which achieves superior dielectric characteristics.
Thorough Noise Countermeasures
The inner sheath uses a polyolefin polymer with different vibration modes than the conductor jacket, enhancing rigidity and vibration damping. Furthermore, noise countermeasures are reinforced with double shielding consisting of copper Mylar tape and braided soft copper wire. The outer jacket is made of UV-resistant polyurethane to prevent degradation over time. By effectively suppressing external and internally generated noise across an exceptionally wide frequency range, the cable delivers outstanding dynamic contrast with exceptional low-frequency definition.
Custom Connectors That Bring Out the Full Potential of Cables
The power plug and IEC connector are specially designed by the Esoteric Mastering Center to work synergistically, bringing out the cable’s characteristics to the absolute limit and reproducing remarkable high resolution, low-frequency transient response, and a soundstage with a sense of presence.
The plug body is machined from a special resin using an NC lathe and features slits designed to disperse and absorb vibrations. Additionally, a machined, heavy-gauge aluminum ring and a carbon-Kevlar composite sleeve minimize unwanted internal and external vibrations. The contacts are made of beryllium copper, which boasts excellent conductivity and mechanical properties. The blades have been heat-treated to achieve a load-bearing capacity of over 8 kg. The contacts undergo two stages of precision buffing followed by a unique, thick dual-layer hybrid plating process to achieve an exceptionally smooth, mirror-like surface.
Contact Elements Featuring a Unique Hybrid Plating Design: Incorporating Expertise in High-Fidelity Mastering
Under the supervision of the chief engineer at the Esoteric Mastering Center, the 7N-PC55ES LTD underwent advanced sound quality tuning, incorporating expertise in the production of high-fidelity music recordings.
Following extensive listening evaluations conducted by the Esoteric Mastering Center, the IEC connector and AC power plug were intentionally engineered with different plating materials in a unique hybrid configuration, an exceptionally rare approach in high-end power cable design. The IEC connector (equipment side) features silver and rhodium plating to maximize clarity and transient response, while the AC power plug employs a newly developed copper-base plating beneath premium 24-karat gold plating, to produce natural, rich mid-to-low frequencies. The high-quality 24-karat gold plating is the same technology used in the Grandioso models, offering a highly balanced combination of purity and wear resistance. This carefully optimized hybrid construction allows each connector to perform the role for which it is best suited, achieving exceptional musical expression, outstanding transparency and a remarkably natural tonal balance.
Stress-Relief Structure That Reduces Strain on Connected Equipment
The substantial shielding required for uncompromising noise performance often makes high-end power cables mechanically rigid. This can sometimes exert physical stress on audio equipment or act as an external vibration conductor.
The 7N-PC55ES LTD eliminates these issues. To help audio equipment perform to its full potential, the 7N-PC55ES LTD uses a stress-relief structure with a highly flexible mesh jacket on the side that connects to the equipment. This minimizes mechanical stress on the equipment while reducing the transmission of unwanted vibration. We have also paid meticulous attention to the outer mesh by adopting Luna Sound Sleeve, a premium audio-grade mesh sleeve manufactured from a proprietary non-polyester material impregnated with microscopic carbon particles. Designed to minimize sonic coloration, it further enhances the cable’s natural transparency and effortless musicality.
