The Extraudio ISOLAN isolator provides surge protection through local network cables of up to 5000 volts and achieves cleaner sound by eliminating high-frequency noise, EMI and radio frequency interference. With normal use of a personal computer with switched power supplies or other appliances connected to the power grid and the local network, performing normal tasks such as sending emails or browsing the Internet generates massive digital noise. By using ISOLAN, these noise interferences in audio transmission are eliminated.
The Extraudio ISOLAN isolator can be used on any audio device connected to a local network, even when the network is not used to transmit music. Once an IP address has been assigned to the audio device and it is active, the Extraudio ISOLAN isolator has an immediate and very positive effect on the overall sound quality and provides multiple protection for digital audio devices or other devices that are connected to the local Ethernet network.
The Extraudio ISOLAN has RJ-45 plugs and can be looped into any existing network line in seconds without soldering cables. It also includes a 20cm category 7 high-speed sleeve. The Extraudio ISOLAN filter works across the entire shortwave range from less than 1 MHz to the lower VHF range. The installation direction is important (not bidirectional) and has one RJ45 input and one output terminal. It is important to note that the Extraudio ISOLAN is only for Ethernet cables and is not suitable for isolating microphone cables or other cables with RJ-45 connectors. The ISOLAN breaks the galvanic connection and therefore is not suitable for PoE (Power over Ethernet).
