The Focal SCM-9, a powered professional monitor have just landed in my audio den, thanks to the fine folks of Absolute Sound Distribution, Malaysia. I was literally blown off from my seat with my jaw dropped!
Can they be that good?
My answer is a resounding YES! These monitors are able to play full bandwidth with lightning fast and thunderous bass. The soundstage is of a believable width, depth and height, given the right stand of the right height.
The detailing is of first class in term of audiophile quality of high order. You may hear details that are not apparent before in the right place.
My conclusion is that such professional monitor available at a convenient package, quality and easy placement can easily bring forth a big smile to a wider audience of a certain budget.
They will be at the KLAV 2015…seek em out!
They can present a seizable presentation like a smaller version of the Gryphon Pendragon…that’s a feat not easily achieve.
