This pair of German Physiks Emperor Mk II loudspeakers in the showroom of their Taiwan distributor, 文鴻貿易. The rest of the system is comprised of some very desirable components: Wadia Digital 971 CD transport, 931 Digital Controller and 922 Mono Digital Decoding Computer and a Boulder Amplifiers 2010 preamplifier and 2150 mono power amplifier. The four DDD drivers on the front of the Emperor Mk II work in parallel and cover the range from 180Hz to 24,000Hz. They are mounted on a motorised beam that can be moved backwards and forwards from the listening seat, using a remote control. Due to their wide frequency range, moving the DDD drivers is effectively the same as moving the entire loudspeaker, only a lot easier.
