German Physiks PQS-402 loudspeakers, finished in a carbon fibre. They don’t look like a conventional loudspeaker, because they are not a conventional loudspeaker and they don’t perform like a conventional loudspeaker. They create an immersive stereo image that only an omnidirectional design can achieve. The two omnidirectional carbon fibre DDD drivers at the front of the loudspeaker work in parallel and cover the range from 215Hz to 24kHz – almost the entire audio range. This exceptionally wide frequency range eliminates the crossover point in the mid-range that conventional loudspeakers must have. This is a major factor in outstanding coherence and transparency that the PQS-402 provides. Two 10-inch woofers and four 8-inch passive woofers take the frequency response down to 24Hz. The PQS-402 can produce sound levels up to 118dB, which gives live-music like dynamics, further enhancing the feeling of listening to a real performance.
