At the Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles, surrounded by one of the most electrically demanding commercial environments in the United States, Gryphon Audio LA has created something unexpectedly quiet.
The 3,200-square-foot showroom, which opened in March 2025 as Gryphon’s first international mono-brand destination, features three dedicated listening rooms built around the company’s EOS, Trident, and flagship Kodo systems. Each room presents a complete Gryphon ecosystem, but behind the visible hardware lies a less obvious yet equally important component: power.
Instead of relying on the building’s shared electrical infrastructure, founder Joseph Cali chose to isolate the showroom entirely with a Torus Power All-in-One installation. A dedicated subpanel, isolated 20-amp circuits, toroidal isolation transformer technology, advanced surge protection, and a separately derived ground create an electrical environment independent of the surrounding building.
This decision was made early in the design process.
“In a building like this, if you do not isolate your power, you are compromising everything,” says Cali.
The benefits go beyond technical specifications. Lower noise, greater dynamic freedom, and improved spatial precision allow each Gryphon system to perform with remarkable consistency. The showroom’s three listening rooms reveal different levels of system performance, but all share the same silent electrical foundation.
According to Cali, visitors often spend hours moving between the rooms, experiencing how the presentation evolves from one system to the next. The goal is not simply to demonstrate equipment, but to create a convincing musical experience.
That philosophy extends beyond the showroom into Cali’s residential projects, where Torus Power is often treated as the starting point rather than a final accessory. It reflects a view increasingly shared by experienced system designers: power quality is not a supporting element but a fundamental part of system performance.
Gryphon Audio LA serves as a practical demonstration of this principle. In a building filled with electrical noise and activity, it delivers something increasingly rare – an environment where the system can operate without interference and the music can emerge unimpeded.
