In 1983, as tube technology seemed to be fading into oblivion, two passionate enthusiasts, André Calmettes and Jean-Paul Caffi, made a bold bet: to bring it back into the spotlight.
They chose the name “Jadis” — a nod to the past… and a deliberate play on words to breathe new life into a technology many had written off as obsolete. In this spirit, the first amplifiers came to life, already driven by a strong conviction: sound must be alive, embodied, almost tangible. Tube technology quickly became the obvious choice, for its unique ability to render the warmth and presence of music.
