Jaeger-Thelen Cinquettio – freely translated as “birds’ song” – stands for elegance and clarity, technological sovereignty and design individuality.

The Cinquettio in the dual 12″ configuration represents the mid-range size of the Cinquettio series, which spans eight sizes. The entry-level model is the dual 8″ version, while the fourth size is the dual 12″ version shown here. The high-end series is rounded out by the flagship, the dual 24″ version. All variants are fully active 3-way systems. The individual sizes are carefully selected according to the specific room dimensions.

Our aim is to offer a sound transducer that impresses with its constant transfer function, excellent time response, freedom from distortion and homogeneous, symmetrical radiation.

This is achieved by arranging the individual components in a series rather than one above the other. Through the use of digital signal processors and the triaxial arrangement, the sound generation centers are concentrically aligned and in phase for a wide variety of possible listening positions.

One achieves the virtual concentration of the sound generation centers and comes closer to the radiation behavior of a point sound source – which is particularly advantageous in terms of time behavior and sound reinforcement in rooms and complex geometries.

The frequency ranges of the individual components are chosen so that the respective sound waves bend smoothly around the respective preceding component and no cancellations or reflections occur due to the arrangement.

The use of large-area Air Motion Transformers in the high-frequency range emphasizes the requirement for excellent timing and brings with it a vertical directivity that prevents high-frequency reflections from room floors and ceilings, while at the same time allowing a wide range of optimal listening positions on the horizontal axis.

The Cinquettio is further enhanced by the use of ABACUS amplifiers. The drain output of the output stage MOSFETs is utilized, enabling strong negative feedback that is virtually independent of the connected load (Dolifet technology / Drain-Output Load-Independent Field Effect Transistor). This strong negative feedback further emphasizes the requirement for excellent timing characteristics across the entire frequency range.
