Lamar Audio Engineering 3D Printing

Lamar Audio Engineering writes: “3D printing is becoming the standard tool in many, many applications. It helps save time and money and provides an accurate result that can be used immediately. We use modern CAD software in combination with various analysis tools to build our parts, which are printed on our own FORMLABS SLA printer with different resin systems to achieve the best result for the specific application. For our phase plug design in particular, we can easily make small changes and measure the result immediately.”

“The part contains of a SLA epoxy resin laser print for the outer and inner shell. After printing the shells get bonded together and metal inserts are placed for the fixation to the driver.
Then the cavity gets filled with a resin with high aluminum powder content. The above shell is about 150mmx150x150mm and the weight is almost one kilo.”
