Minneapolis Hi Fi writes: “Whats been on our mind lately is placement for our new Magico S5 2024 speakers, moving over 260 pound speakers around the room is no easy task but well worth the effort. Its amazing just how different the same speaker can sound by where it is placed in the room. Also equally important is room treatment on the first reflection points.
By moving our Magicos further out of the room and and listening chairs further back (getting the first reflection point past the big wood support beams) really opened up our soundstage, and by a huge amount. The soundstage is now the largest it’s ever been in our reference listening room, both in width, and depth.
We also swapped the 9 foot tall 4 inch thick absorbers from the first reflection point with diffusers, and that opened up the upper midrange and high frequencies quite dramatically, there is now more life, sparkle and speed which makes the system more fun and engaging!
We will be doing more micro adjustments with placement while they continue to break in and look forward to showing off our new Magico’s at an event in February, dates to be determined, We look forward to seeing you there!”
