MoFi Distribution introduces the fully balanced, all-triode BAT VK-80t tube power amplifier which completes BAT’s world class “80 series” product line. The industrial design continues the graceful approach first launched for BAT’s 25th anniversary that has made products such as the VK-80i tube integrated amplifier among the most beautiful audio components available today.
“I am proud of the amount of technology we are able to package in the VK-80t’s compact design” says chief designer, Victor Khomenko. From the first gain stage that features the 6H30 SuperTube to the fuse-less protection circuit and automatic biasing design, the VK-80t achieves its great sound through meticulous, out of the box engineering – all with a fundamental emphasis on achieving great sound. Delivering 60 watts per channel, the VK-80t uses the 6C33C-B triode output tube for power delivery. The powerhouse 6C33C-B vacuum-tube offers many times the current delivery of the 6550/KT90 tetrode tube variant used in most traditional tube designs.
By using the same high-current triode 6C33C-B tube employed in BAT’s flagship REX 3 Power amplifier, the VK-80t delivers the high-current performance required to drive even difficult low-impedance speaker loads. The use of the 6H30 tube in the first gain stage contributes to a greater level of dynamics and extension than would be found in amplifiers using more traditional and non-linear vacuum tubes. The result is an all triode fully balanced design that provides a natural portrayal of harmonic texture and instrumental timbre.
