New Musical Fidelity NU-VISTA PRE, PAS, and PAM.

Antony Michaelson, the founder of Musical Fidelity and professional musician, always dreamt of making an audio system that sounds like tube and class A amps. Warm and musical, but it also allows the real-life dynamic reproduction of music, especially of big orchestras. Now his dreams have come true. The new NU-VISTA by Musical Fidelity PRE, PAS, and, PAM is a magic combo of power and finesse.

They represent all of Musical Fidelity’s technology in making the best, sweetest-sounding amps in the world in a cost-no-object, no-compromise solution. Our engineers took three years to develop these gigantic but beautiful creatures. Over 1 million Euros have been invested in design costs to launch Musical Fidelity into the heavens of the best.
We are very proud and honored to introduce a new generation of ultimate high-end audio products under the NU-VISTA by Musical Fidelity brand name. The PRE, PAS, and PAM will be the first step in the very best in today’s amplification.

General Description

For those looking for the ulti- mate in amplification we’ve decided to take our highly acclaimed Nu-Vista 800 cir- cuit and expand on it: The mono block power amp Nu-Vista PAM.

A historic first

For the first time Nuvistor tubes come together with state-of-the-art fully balanced discrete technology. The result is a pow- er amp that measures and sounds like a dream.

The Nu-Vista Legend lives on

The use of Nuvistor tubes and the pursuit of the best sound possible go hand-in-hand at Musical Fidelity. When you listen to our Nu-Vista products you can feel and hear the passion
involved.

Sound

The sound is as natural as can be – silky smooth with enormous transients. Amazingly relaxing and at the same time involv- ing. The holographic imaging of your favourite artist in your lis- tening room is closer than ever.

Massive build quality

The enclosure is everything you’d expect from Musical Fidelity’s top of the line: un- compromisingly rigid and solid. The massive casework shields the delicate signals from any harmful electro- magnetic fields that may in- terfere.

The Nu-Vista PAM

The balanced, low distortion circuit based on the legendary Titan 1000W amp employs five pairs of high-power output de- vices for stable and reliable op- eration. The separate capaci- tors for bulk supply and output devices reduce output imped- ance and improve dynamics. Added chokes improve the
supply ripple and pulse current spike reduction.

The Nu-Vista PAM PSU

The matching external PSU supplies the clean power and proper shielding and damp- ening necessary for those with the highest musical demands in ultimate in-house music re- production.

Nuvistor tubes

Nuvistor tubes were invented in the 1950s to solve the many shortcomings of conventional tubes. Unlike them, Nuvistor tubes offer very high reliability, low microphony, low noise, consistency from batch to batch, small size, relatively low power consumption and great technical performance.
One famous application was in the Ampex MR-70, a costly studio tape recorder whose entire electronics section was based on nu- vistors. Another limited application of this very small tube was in studio-grade microphones from that era, the AKG/Norelco C12a, which employed the 7586, being a good example.
It was also later found in the famed Neumann U 47 studio microphone. This microphone was highly regarded by artists all over the world, and was used by many top recording artists such as Frank Sinatra, The Beatles, and so on. Remarkably, you can currently see a U47 microphone, with its stand, cables and power supply on eBay for $10.999 „Buy-it-now“.
Unfortunately just as uses for Nuvistor tubes were being explored, the transistor was inven- ted and it was ‘game over’ for Nuvistors. The- re the matter rested until about fifteen years ago, when Musical Fidelity created the first of its ground-breaking Nu-Vista series. These le- gendary, limited-edition products sold out in a matter of months. Today, fifteen years later, they command very high secondhand prices because of their beautiful sound, build quality, and longevity.
