Our friend Dong-chan Son shares an interesting insight about the offset angle tonearm vs. zero offset straight (red) tonearm (image by Viv Lab, Japan). As shown in the picture the sharp and high-pitched peaks are made in direction to the anti-skating force operate. I think this is the same phenomenon as in which direction the moving object faces when very strong winds blow. The anti-skating force is constant but the skating force is variable. When stylus vibrates to outward (Alpha/inward Alpha’): F= Alpha + anti-skating force and vice versa F’=Alpha’ – anti-skating force.
