OMA New Midrange Field Coil Drivers

OMA writes: “Our new midrange field coil drivers, based on the late 1930’s RCA MI-1428B design, and following from the Cogent DS1428 drivers designed and built by Rich Drysdale and Steve Schell in Los Angeles. We used the Cogent DS1428 drivers for the first 15 years of the Imperia design, and these new drivers will take over on the midrange horns.

This is the only place the new OMA RD1428 drivers will be used, although we will probably create a version for use on the AC1, which will become the AC2 in that event. It’s been a ten year process from conception to realization. The new drivers are in use now at our Dumbo showroom, along with the field coil versions of the 21” woofer we have also just created (see previous post).”
