The Riviera Audio Labs AFM100 Special Edition Monophonic Amplifier is a Class A reference monophonic power amplifier that embodies all the cornerstones of Riviera design: zero global feedback, a hybrid topology (tubes for voltage amplification, solid-state devices for power), and pure Class A operation. The AFM100 SE delivers 100 W into 8 ohms in Class A (200 W into 4 ohms) and can drive loudspeakers with exceptional naturalness.
Voltage amplification is handled by a pure triode operating in Class A in the most linear manner possible, while the power section employs a total of 20 devices, each capable of dissipating 150 watts.
The power section’s supply, built around an oversized transformer rated at over 500 VA, uses a refined inductive pi (pigreco) filter and distributed capacitance; total filter capacity exceeds 130,000 µF. The deliberate absence of current-limiting systems ensures amplifier stability even with complex loads.
