HIGH END LOUDSPEAKERS STRUCTURE: HOW MUCH ARE METALS IMPORTANT?

Starting from the beginning, when aluminum was used, the avional nickel-plated arrived with Amati futura. This characteristics aluminum alloy is implemented by two CNC machined avional end-covers on the top and on the bottom of the cabinet and their role is to control and constrain residual resonances of the enclosure walls. This project solution is named Exo-Squeleton and became a permanent feature for all Homage collection speakers and even for Lilium and Aida.

Another innovative material is Gun metal, an alloy of zync, copper and tin appreciated for its ductility and frequently used in aeronautics and in Sonus faber high end loudspeakers Ex3ma and Lilium’s basket containing the cones. 

From the use of top performance aluminum alloys and precise manufacturing to the simplest and most traditional materials, Sonus faber metals are treated equally: with care and experience.
