However, it can be easier to choose if ideas are clear. How big is the room? For what kind of musical reproduction the hi-fi speakers are needed? What genre of music will be played? These are some facts you should have clear before approaching the hi-fi shop. In addiction, let’s see some variables you may acknowledge while selecting your system.
The room has to be at least 8 square meter big; this measure lets the sound frequency freely expand, especially the lowest ones, without having ground noise or echos.

It is better if the room has an irregular shape; parallel walls contribute to make sound waves roll, generating spurious vibrations.
Green light to rectangular shape and rooms whose walls are in golden ratio. The hifi speakers will be placed on the longest of the walls, and the listening place will be set next to its parallel wall.

Which kind of home audio speakers do you need? A home theater system is made up generally by 2 front speakers, 2 rear speakers, and the central channel. The number of the speakers depends on the room size; sometimes 2 bookshelves and the central channel are sufficient; sometimes, some more demanding listeners prefer to have a dedicated subwoofer in addiction.

Setting the home theater system
There are no hard and fast rules on home theater system set-up that can be valid for every environment. As a general recommendation, we advise positioning the main channel speakers (front) far from room’s corners and keeping them at a distance of 70-80 cm from side and back walls. The center channel has to be positioned exactly in line with the video screen (either above or below it) and the subwoofer can be placed nearly anywhere in the room, although we recommend avoiding the corners.
