These are the prototypes for a speaker design that Chris Sommovigo commissioned his friend Sierra Aznar Victor to design for the Stereolab, LLC based on the idea of:
- Approaching an homage of sorts to the JBL L200
- Making a 15″ 3-way box loudspeaker with performance that would make him happy (he mostly designs full horn systems).
“The intention of the project was to design a loudspeaker that my company, Stereolab, LLC, could make here in the USA. As we went along, we pulled out more and more stops … it’s a tour de force of outstanding design, very high-performance parts, and retro-sexy super-vintage amazeballs. Will get them under the reins of a 300 B-based SET this weekend to get them singing.”
