Great insight from a great never resting Steve Hoffman:
Russ Gary (Creedence engineer on all of their albums) and I did some TV interviews for the Tokyo Broadcasting Systems Corporation regarding the hit single “Have You Ever Seen the Rain” by Creedence Clearwater Revival last year.
They wanted our thoughts on the song, and Russ (since he was the original engineer) and I (who did the audiophile remastering) were happy to answer their questions. I had no idea what they are going to ask but it was a fun adventure with great questions.
The interviews were for a show titled “Song to Soul” on TBS-vision, in which they introduce one great song or an album in each episode with the
background stories and interviews with the band and key people who were
involved in making the song.
In past episodes, they featured James Taylor, Bob Marley, ABBA, Doors, Beach Boys, and Eagles to name a few. Most recently they did “Hard to Say I’m Sorry” by Chicago.
