SW1X Audio Design DAC II with new EI core transformers

Here is an interesting observation by Slawa Roschkow about the sound of the EI cores used in SW1X Audio Design DAC II… “It is all relative. Depending on the core material employed, there is a potential for more transparency provided the rest of the circuit is up to it. We now started to offer the high-grade M6 orient silicon steel material in our transformer cores, which is much more transparent sounding than most non-grain orient silicon steels used in commercial toroidal production today.”
“Besides that EI cores generally have lower failure rates relative to the toroidal type and filter HF and mechanical noise better as there is a bobbin unlike on the toroidal type. Otherwise, everything else is similar.”
