T + A – The Art of the Possible

Some innovations are so far ahead of their time, they feel like they belong in a gallery.
To tell the story of this particular innovation, T + A creative team used the modern magic of CGI to build this special gallery—a powerful, architectural space that feels as monumental as the speaker’s own place in audio history. This fusion of art and digital creation feels incredibly appropriate.

The object of focus is the T+A A2D from the 1990s. It was one of the world’s first fully active digital speakers, moving the entire signal processing—crossovers, phase correction, and equalization—into the digital domain. This was a monumental leap, a form of technological “magic” that allowed for sonic precision previously thought impossible. In the same way, CGI was a monumental leap for visual art.

The ‘magic’ of rendering this image is a direct descendant of the digital pioneering spirit embodied by the A2D. It’s not just a product; it’s a monument to a pivotal moment in audio history. This pioneering spirit, this belief in solving problems from first principles, is the same one that drives our R&D today.

The Art of Sound is, and always has been, the Art of the Possible.
