THE COUNTING CROWS – AUGUST AND EVERYTHING AFTER!

The Counting Crows 1993 debut album ‘August and Everything After’ is among my favourite reference albums. Acoustic Sounds’ double LP cut at 45 RPM, plated and pressed at Quality Record Pressings extends over four sides and maximize the recording’s dynamic range. This is what I’ve wrote back when it was released: “We may be used to the CD sound of the album, as it was mastered as such, but thanks to Chad’s persistence in tracking down releases with original analog session tapes; what we have here is a new, true analog jewel recording pressing.” Mastered by Ryan K. Smith at Sterling Sound. Originally produced by T-Bone Burnett, this debut became an unexpected multi-platinum-selling hit, partly as a result of the single “Mr. Jones” that ultimately reached No. 5 on the U.S. chart.
