The unique Platter design….
Platter – The Disc Rotator™ platter is a 45mm tri-laminate construction weighing ca 12kg, made of stainless non magnetic steel, a vibration absorbing compound, and acrylic. Integrated static electricity reducing system.
Sub platter – The Disc Rotator™ sub platter is made of Swedish air craft grade aluminium, effectively damped to reduce mechanical vibrations. Mechanical loop: tone arm – platter is achieved by ingenious use of a fine ruby ball. This construction reduces mechanically induced vibration propagation.
The Disc Rotator™ has an inverted bearing with bearing house in massive oil bronze. Bearing shaft is extremely finely polished to sub micrometer finish, and made of an advanced ceramic with even lower friction than diamond. Excellent bearing tolerance, individually matched components. A Ø6mm ruby bearing ball. Damped thrust plate in pure diamond on wolfram carbide. Oil film lubrication.
Opposing neodymium magnets relieving the bearing ball and thrust plate, thus make the effective bearing ball / thrust plate force < 10N / 1kg. The pivot point of the bearing is finely aligned to the centre of mass and gravity of the platter. All in all – minimal bearing rumble and optimal rotational characteristics.

The Disc Rotator™ plinth is a clam shell construction with 25mm + 40mm finely machined Swedish air craft grade aluminium separated by 25mm of damping and absorbing visco-elastic polymer.
The Disc Rotator™ has two tone arm mounts. You can use 9” or 12” tone arms. When using one tone arm the other mount is disguised under a discrete logo plate.
The plinth construction is mechanically symmetric and thus mechanically balanced.
Drive system….
The Disc Rotator™ has a high quality 3-phase EC-motor with a high precision optical encoder housed in a motor house made of 10mm thick aluminium.
A highly advanced motor pulley & flywheel.
High-end motor control, housed in an external box made of 15mm massive Swedish birch or oak with 3mm internal aluminium EMI/RFI-shielding.
Finely adjustable speed by push buttons. All in all a state of the art motor drive & control system..

Feet – The Disc Rotator™ is made of massive Swedish air craft grade aluminium, with a construction comprising opposing neodymium magnets making the plinth virtually air floating and contact free. The magnetic forces are effectively shielded within the massive aluminium construction.
Base – The Disc Rotator™ base is made of Swedish air craft grade aluminium, damped with visco-elastic polymer, and levelled by three adjustable and discretely integrated spikes with aluminium cups.
Record clamp down system – The Disc Rotator™ accessories: A stainless steel and carbon fibre record clamp with mechanical and piezo electric damping function. A stainless non magnetic steel periphery clamp down ring designed to be removable on the fly. This combined system is as good as a vacuum clamp down system but without all the hustle and maintenance of a vacuum system.
Tone arm – Not included. Standard tone arm base-plate: SME-standard mounting. Other tone arm mountings on special order. You can use 9” or 12” tone arms, The Disc Rotator™ has 2 tone arm mounts. When using one tone arm the other mount is disguised under a discrete logo plate.
