he Gold Note Experience is a journey created to demonstrate how music can be reproduced with naturalness, dynamics and coherence. With this perspective, every component of the system is designed according to one precise principle: extracting the truth from the recording. A central moment of the experience is dedicated to the PH-1000.
The RIAA equalisation curve is often incorrectly considered a single and absolute reference, whereas the reality of the musical landscape has always been characterised by a plurality of labels and different recording criteria.
Since this was never a monolithic reality, reproducing the correct curve means respecting the true identity of the record and reading the recording in the way it was originally conceived.
The correct use of equalisation curves produces an immediate result: the soundstage opens up, instruments become more defined and dynamics are released. Nothing is added; what the vinyl truly contains is extracted.
The same principle of extracting the truth from the record also accompanies digital listening. In this case, the recording is reproduced without flattening its character thanks to our study of reference record samples, of which we know the musical instruments, microphones, recording environments and recording techniques. This has allowed us to build an enormous database, which we use whenever we design our products and carry out testing.
We therefore do not pursue the conceptually flawed ideal of “perfect sound”, but instead work to extract the musical truth contained within every recording.
